The palace of the Old Stock Exchange is an excellent example of Triestine Neoclassicism. It looks like a Doric-style Greek temple. Its faade is decorated with four statues representing the four continents known at that time when Oceania was still to be discovered. They were made in 1806 by Venetian artists.
